St Columba's nursing home is not like any other nursing home you
will visit in Galway. The grounds span over 15 acres.
providing ample room to stretch your legs (if you walk around our
front lawn you would have walked the best part of one kilometre)
Our driveway is approximately one kilometre long and a stroll down
to the gate you can take in the abundance of wildlife and beautiful
scenery. The demesne spans three floors serviced by an
elevator. The building has been completely refurbished and
architecturally designed with a view to maximising the space
and light while preserving the heritage of the building. When
you step inside the front door into our reception hall you get a
sense of what it must have been like to live in a Georgian mansion.
Walking on through the drawing room and around the building there is
a sense of both roominess and homeliness that is difficult to to
understand. All bedrooms have different views of the grounds.
Whether it be the northeast wing overlooking the front lawn area and
woodlands or the southeast wing overlooking our walled orchard of
approximately 4 acres. No two bedrooms are the same they all
have the same state of the art facilities but have their own
character. Some of our rooms have patio doors that will allow
you to sit outside your bedroom if you wish. We have two
dining rooms, one on the ground floor and one on the lower ground
floor. as well as three large sitting rooms on all three
levels. We have activities rooms and a treatment room.
We have also a hair and beauty salon. this is a brief
description of what our home is like, but, you need to see it for
yourself to truly appreciate it.

pleasantly surprised.
